Who we are
Please Note: If you try to email me, my service will send a confirmation email with a link that you will have to click on to confirm that it is coming from a valid address. Your email will then be sent. This is an antispam service that my email account has setup.
Started doing this in 1993 as a means of paying my stall fee while advertising something else that I was doing at the time. Started with a few decals, which sold well, and have slowly, almost every time I order added new items. The stall has progressed from the stock in my panniers, top box, and every available space about the bike, my wife and myself to the current situation, a van and a 20ft x 10ft stall. The next stage will be a dedicated show trailer, so that I can just pull up on site, open up and start trading, it will give me a nice comfy place to sleep and cook as well.
We arrived at our first rally as traders on the bike, not having booked a space or even knowing how to go about it, a word with a nice lady on Saturday morning found us setting up the stock on a borrowed table, and draping stock over a couple of park benches.
A 10ft sq. pop-up garden marquee and three paste tables followed, which was nice as it would fit in the trailer that I pull with the bike. Now I have a little Renault Kangoo, that some other traders call the tardis (sign of a misspent youth I guess, too many hours playing Tetris).
I trade at a place called Rivington barn on a Sunday, between Horwich and Chorley in Lancashire, I usually spend Friday morning traveling to a rally, setting up and doing a brisk trade to around 11pm, open again about 8am Saturday and trade till I decide that the two and a half hours dismantle time plus my travel time will put me home between midnight Saturday and one in the morning Sunday, then get up at 6:30 Sunday morning to get to Rivie so I can get set up all over again.
So as you can see, you can find me at Rivington Barn most Sundays, the exception being bank holidays when I stay at the rally till Sunday night and trade at Rivington on the Monday, or in the winter time if the weather forecast is for a bad day, I stay in bed. I start the rally season in January and go throughout the year right up to the end of Oct., 38 rallies in 2008.
If you run a rally and would like to book us, please feel free to contact us, but please include number of people attending your rally, costs, any rules etc. If you see us at a rally come and say hello and tell us what you think of the website, or if you have any suggestions for stock to carry.
